Similar to the explanation of
999 + 1, we can say :

9999 + 1 will give a five digit number
equal to 10000 called ten thousand.

The value of the place, fifth
from right is ten times thousand
and is equal to ten thousand.

Now, the numbers 10000 to 99999,
namely ten thousand to
ninety nine thousand nine hundred
ninety nine, can be understood.

In the above example,
the value of 72589
= 7 ten thousands + 2 thousands
+ 5 hundreds + 8 tens + 9 ones
= 70,000 + 2,000 + 500 + 80 + 9
= 72589

It is written as seventy two thousand
five hundred eighty nine.
